A Miami-Dade judge raised the bond for a battery defendant and ordered a psychiatric evaluation after two court appearances in which he repeatedly yelled “F—- you.”

The defendant, 24-year-old Jodel Leveille, cursed, flipped off Judge Ellen Sue Venzer and grabbed his crotch in a Wednesday morning bond hearing, according to NBC Miami and Local10.com. Leveille reacted after Venzer found probable cause to support a battery charge.

“F— you, judge! You b—! F— you!” he yelled. Local10.com described Venzer as “cool, calm and collected” during Leveille’s tirade.

Venzer sent Leveile back to jail to cool off, but he was unrepentant when he returned for an afternoon court appearance, the stories say. “Go to hell, judge,” Leveile said. “Go to hell. I don’t want to hear it. You and all the officers, go to hell. I don’t have any apologies for anyone. F— all of you.”

Leveile was accused of punching his girlfriend, resisting arrest and spitting on a police officer.

The incident isn’t the first involving a courtroom flip-off. In a Feb. 4 bail hearing, 18-year-old Penelope Soto flipped the bird in court. She was initially sentenced to 30 days in jail for contempt. After she spent five days in jail, the judge set aside the sentence and ordered her into a treatment program.
