Scalia Didn’t Gush in Meeting With Actress

Did Justice Antonin Scalia gush when he encountered Sex and the City star Sarah Jessica Parker on the street? Did he bum a cigarette from her?
A witness quoted in New York magazine says he did, but a Supreme Court spokeswoman says those details are all wrong, Legal Times reports.
The witness quoted in the magazine reported that Scalia rushed over to Parker and gushed about how much he loves her show and wants to see the movie. Then Scalia supposedly asked the actress for a cigarette.
But Supreme Court spokeswoman Kathy Arberg told Legal Times that Scalia didn’t even know who Parker was when they met on the sidewalk during a cigarette break. When he realized who she was, he didn’t mention her work.
As for the cigarette incident, Scalia didn’t ask for one, but he did provide a light for hers, Arberg says.
