A Buffalo law firm hired a private company to secure documents in its records room after a fire originated there early Friday and blew out the windows.

Despite the efforts by John J. Fromen Attorneys at Law, some legal documents from closed cases were flying about Buffalo streets, WIVB.com reports. Other documents appeared to be about workplace safety, the Buffalo News says.

The records room was located on the 15th floor of the Main Place Tower. Many law firms are housed in the building, and their offices may have been damaged, too, according to WKBW. Water from fire hoses traveled all the way down to the building’s lobby.

Buffalo Fire Commissioner Garnell Whitfield told WIVB that street cleaning will pick up some of the documents littering the streets.
