Littler Mendelson is opening a back-office operations center in Kansas City, Missouri.

Littler’s new offices will be located in the same Crown Center building occupied by an administrative services center being opened by Sedgwick, the Kansas City Star reports. Littler’s present administrative employees will be offered the chance to relocate to Kansas City, the Kansas City Business Journal says.

Bob Marcusse, chief executive of the Kansas City Area Development Council, told the Star it was a coincidence that both Littler and Sedgwick chose the same building.

In a press release, Littler’s co-managing directors Tom Bender and Jeremy Roth said they evaluated nearly every major U.S. city and “decided that Kansas City is the right fit for its quality and diverse labor force, central time zone location and cost benefits.”

The Am Law Daily (sub. req.) reports on Littler’s plans, as well as plans by Latham & Watkins to open a business services office in Manchester, England, to support the firm’s European offices.
