A June fire that gutted the home of Texas Supreme Court Justice David Medina was arson, the fire marshal has concluded.

Investigators have subpoenaed cell phone records of the judge’s family members and friends, six of whom have been identified as “people of interest,” the Houston Chronicle reports. Family members have cooperated in questioning.

Lead investigator Nathan Green told the newspaper that Medina’s mortgage company filed to foreclose on the 5,000-square-foot property in June 2006. Insurance on the house had lapsed and did not cover the fire loss.

“I just know we have cooperated fully,” Justice Medina told the newspaper. “I’m not going to comment on this thing any further.”
