Dentons

Dentons has has created a free legal-referral network and is inviting law firms to participate.

The new service, called the “Nextlaw Global Referral Network,” will allow member law firms to concentrate on what they do best while referring out other matters, according to a press release. The network is based on new technology that promotes reciprocal repeat referrals, says the network’s new CEO, Jeff Modisett.

The network will launch midyear. Law firms that have an existing referral relationship with Dentons will get immediate invitations to join as founding firms. Dentons referred work to nearly 1,000 law firms last year while receiving 500 inbound referrals.

Other aspiring network members will be vetted by a panel consisting of lawyers from Dentons and other member law firms, as well as general counsel. There is no geographic exclusivity. The network website is here.

“The legal profession, like every other industry in the world, will inevitably be restructured,” according to the network’s FAQ page. “Dentons is leading the charge because it sees other law firms as collaborators, not competitors. And you are invited to join us.”
