For the second time in two weeks, an Alabama judge has banned a state gambling task force from an electronic bingo casino, eliciting a bells-and-whistles response from the governor’s office.

After issuing a second injunction a little after midnight today, Greene County Circuit Judge Eddie Hardaway Jr. “has got to go,” a spokesman for Gov. Bob Riley tells the Birmingham News.

The judge, contends communications director Jeff Emerson, is ignoring the law and a state supreme court ruling concerning his initial order by again ordering the state’s Task Force on Illegal Gambling to stay out of the Greenetrack casion near Eutaw.

“Apparently, Judge Hardaway believes there is one law for him and Greenetrack and another for everyone else. It’s clear he believes he does not have to pay attention to what the Supreme Courts says,” states Emerson. “When a judge ignores the orders of the Supreme Court, it threatens our entire judicial system, and that judge has got to go.”

The article doesn’t include any comment from the judge.
