Law profs' 'satanic' pay-raise claim is tossed by state labor relations board
Law professors who alleged they were punished for union activities with pay raises of zilch or $666 have lost their case before the Ohio State Employment Relations Board.
The law professors at Cleveland-Marshall had alleged in their unfair-labor complaint that the $666 pay raise was intended as a message that they were Satan. But the employment relations board said there was no probable cause of a labor violation and dismissed the complaint, TaxProf Blog reports.
The board said the law school had provided “a plausible explanation of how the merit increases were awarded” and the law professors did not provide sufficient information or documentation to support their allegations.
Cleveland State University had argued the $666 merit award was the result of mathematical division, not anti-union animus. It said there was no evidence the dean intended the figure as a “satanic merit pay amount.”
