Teenager who sued her parents for support has returned home
Developing: A New Jersey teenager who made headlines by suing her parents for support has gone back home.
A lawyer for the parents announced Wednesday that Rachel Canning, 18, “has returned home and reunited with her parents and siblings,” reports the Star-Ledger. A press conference by the attorney, Angelo Sarno, is scheduled in the afternoon.
Canning, who is in her senior year at a private high school, left home last October and moved in with her best friend, the daughter of a prominent attorney. He advanced legal fees to pay for her legal representation, but she was not successful in getting an emergency order in a hearing before a Morris County judge which would require her parents to pay private high school tuition, future college tuition and living expenses, reports an earlier Star-Ledger article. Another hearing had been scheduled for April 22.
