As the Daily Pulp blog of the Broward-Palm Beach New Times reports a lawyer’s claim that disgraced ex-attorney Scott Rothstein stole $168 million of his $1.4 billion Ponzi scheme proceeds for his own personal use, there isn’t much doubt where some of the money may have gone.

At least a few of those millions apparently were spent on high-end sports cars, according to the DealBook blog of the New York Times and the South Florida Sun-Sentinel.

The Times blog provides a list and the Sun-Sentinel publishes a photo of some of the forfeited Rothstein vehicles that are to be auctioned at the Broward County Convention Center early next month. They include a 1967 Corvette Stingray, twin scarlet Ferrari Spyders and a rare limited-edition 2008 Bugatti Veyron.

Described by the Sun-Sentinel as perhaps the planet’s most expensive car, the latter blue-and-black two-toned 16-cylinder emblem of excess features air scoops on its front, top and sides and seems, the newspaper notes, “more suited to Darth Vader than any South Florida motorist.”
