The New York associate who filed a gay bias suit against Sullivan & Cromwell has apparently landed on his feet, and he’ll be using them to take the elevator to his new $1.5 million penthouse condo.

Charney settled the suit last October for an undisclosed sum. Property records indicate that Charney and his partner are buying the condo at 93rd Street and Broadway for a little less than $1.5 million, the New York Observer reports. The new place has two bedrooms and a 987 square-foot terrace.

Colin Powell and his wife also live in the building, but they didn’t take the upgrade package with spiffy appliances. “Mr. Charney’s apartment came with the Sub-Zero and other bonuses, which means he might be living more glamorously than the former secretary of state, at least as far as kitchen appliances go,” the story says.

The big firm has to subsidize subzero appliances!  Straght Eye for the Gay Guy!  Congrats to this guy…hopefully he will be able to enjoy his new apartment without a bunch of ogglers coming in to eye his appliances.
