Updated: After more than a decade of marriage to the man who is now pro basketball’s highest-paid player, Vanessa Bryant can expect to get big bucks in their divorce if, as her mother said several years ago, there was no prenuptial agreement before she wed Kobe Bryant.

After 10 years, the marriage is considered under California law to have lasted long enough to entitle the spouse to maintain his or her standard of living after a divorce, matrimonial lawyer Dmitry Gorin tells the L.A. Now blog of the Los Angeles Times.

The state’s community property law assumes that a spouse is entitled to half of the assets earned during the marriage. Bryant’s current net worth is an estimated $150 million.

Gorin predicts she will get “more than enough for many lifetimes,”

Published details of the property settlement may be minimal, however: The couple said after Bryant filed for divorce last week that they had already worked out an agreement privately, the Times notes.
