A Florida lawyer recently sued by the Colorado attorney general over his “debt management” work on behalf of clients there is now suspended in his home state, based on apparently unrelated alleged misconduct.

After an investigation, Clint Johnson has been charged with using his law firm trust account funds for personal expenses, reports WFTV. However, he says the Florida Bar accusations that prompted the state supreme court to suspend him are mistaken, based on bookkeeping errors that have been corrected.

“I know and my clients know I haven’t taken anything from anybody,” Johnson tells the station.

He is accused of using trust account money for an $8,000 deposit on a Porsche Panamera as well as writing a $20,000 personal check, among other allegedly improper payments.
