In the first of a series of expected worker lawsuits against Howrey, former staffer Stephanie Langley has filed suit against the law firm contending that it failed to meet its obligation under the WARN Act to provide employees with 60 days of notice prior to its closing.

Her complaint (PDF), which was filed yesterday in federal court in Manhattan, seeks class action status, reports the Am Law Daily.

Langley, who worked for Howrey in Falls Church, Va., is represented by New York-based Outten & Golden.

Howrey is represented by restructuring partner Peter Gilhuly of Latham & Watkins. He declined to discuss the lawsuit with the Am Law Daily.
