Whether or not the father of actress Hilary Duff should pay $25,000 for her 21st birthday party was the subject of a court hearing in Texas yesterday from which her father was removed in handcuffs.

After a tense hearing in the bitter divorce case that also featured acrimony between opposing attorneys, Harris County Judge Thomas Stansbury ordered Bob Duff to pay $12,500 for the party, reports the Houston Chronicle.

He also held Bob Duff in contempt and sentenced him to a 10-day jail term, for violating a order that prohibited him from selling assets without court permission.

I’m sorry, but can’t Hilary Duff afford her own birthday party?

#1, she is (or at least was) a MINOR, and her money is probabely being handled by her father, as was the same for Linsey Lohen.  So many pretty girls have their parents managing their money for them because they are too busy and too young to do it themselves.  Then the parents go wild with the money and often have to get into trouble themselves.  I saw all of this happening on the E! Channel and also Mary Grace had a story on this problem about 6 months ago.  When I have a family, I will not manage my kids money.  If they become famous, I will let a PROFESSIONAL money manager take over for them.  I do not want to be in the news.

since when can people be forced to pay for a birthday party for a 21 year old millionaire adult.  I say appeal it for fathers rights everywhere.  Men seem to have no rights in court as woman are seen as the victims and men the villians.
