Hogan Lovells Partner Ousted, Accused of Padding Expense Accounts by $1.6M
A litigation partner at Hogan Lovells in London has been ousted after the firm alleged he padded his expense accounts by more than 1 million pounds over a four-year period.
Christopher Grierson cooperated in the internal probe and has agreed to repay the full amount in two weeks, a law firm spokesperson told the Lawyer and Legal Week. In U.S. dollars, the alleged loss is more than $1.6 million.
The firm dismissed Grierson last week and reported the allegations to the Solicitors Regulation Authority, the stories say. No clients were affected. Hogan Lovells plans to re-evaluate its internal controls as a result of its findings.
The Lawyer calls Grierson “a distinguished international litigator” who was known for advising Deloitte & Touche in the liquidation of the Bank of Credit and Commerce International.
