A lawyer who won a $900,000 wage-and-hour case against New York City in 2009 on behalf of 16,000 police officers reportedly won’t be getting a payday.

Thomas Puccio had sought $2 million in the Fair Labor Standards Act case and was awarded $515,000 by U.S. District Judge Shira Scheindlin. But the New York City-based 2nd U.S. Court of Appeals vacated that award, saying Puccio could not be paid for his work in the Manhattan federal court case because he didn’t keep contemporaneous time records, the New York Law Journal reported in an article reprinted in New York Lawyer (reg. req.).

Puccio did not return a phone call from the legal publication seeking comment.
