A 29-year-old man accused of plotting to kill the Florida judge who barred him from visiting his 14-month-old daughter has been charged with corruption by threat against a public servant and released on $10,000 bail.

A report by the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office says Gene Melden Clary showed his daughter’s mom a .44 Taurus revolver and sought her help in the slaying of Circuit Judge William Webb, recounts the St. Petersburg Times.

When she refused, Clary allegedly told her, “Fine, I’ll just do it myself” and noted that a friend of his knew where the judge lived because he did some tile work for him.

The article doesn’t include any comment from Clary or his counsel.
