It’s official: A major law firm is expanding its Midwestern footprint by acquiring Chicago-based Ungaretti & Harris.
Nixon Peabody announced the merger Monday, which will make its Chicago office the firm’s second-largest after Boston. Formed by the merger of firms with historic roots in New York and Massachusetts, the 600-attorney Nixon Peabody also has offices in offices in California; Rhode Island; Washington, D.C.; China; and the United Kingdom.
Ungaretti & Harris will add about 100 lawyers to the roster, giving Nixon Peabody, which has a small office in Chicago, about 120 attorneys in the city, the Wall Street Journal Law Blog reports.
