The owner of a recreational vehicle dealership is proposing an unusual legal settlement that would pit himself in a push-up contest against an actor who played a werewolf.

Twilight star Taylor Lautner claimed in a lawsuit filed last week that he suffered emotional distress when a $300,000 custom trailer wasn’t delivered on time to the set of his new movie, Abduction. The defendant, Brent McMahon, owner of McMahon’s RV, proposed the push-up settlement in a press conference Monday, according to the Hollywood Reporter, the Orange County Register and the Associated Press.

Here’s the proposal: If Lautner wins the push-up contest, the 47-year-old McMahon will pay Lautner and his Shark Kid Entertainment $40,000. If McMahon wins, he’ll donate $40,000 to Children’s Hospital of Orange County.

Lautner lawyer Robert Barta didn’t like the idea of a push-up contest, but he was more impressed with the idea of a contribution to charity, according to a statement he gave to the publications.

“McMahon’s RV’s response to our client’s legitimate claim further demonstrates the lack of professionalism that Mr. McMahon, his company and his employees have exhibited from the outset, and that compelled the filing of this lawsuit in the first place,” Barta said.

“While we will not dignify Mr. McMahon’s facetious suggestion of a contest to settle a legal claim with a response, we do welcome the opportunity for him to resolve this matter by making a $40,000 donation to the charity of Mr. Lautner’s choice, and we will be in touch with his counsel to see if he will make good on this offer.”
