LawPay rebrands as 8am LawPay—here’s what’s changing (and what’s not)
AffiniPay, the team behind LawPay, MyCase, CasePeer, and DocketWise, is now 8am™. As part of this transition, LawPay is now called 8am LawPay—a small name change that reflects its place in a broader, more connected professional business platform.
In the following discussion, 8am Chief Product Officer Leslie Witt explains what legal professionals can expect and how the shift supports a continued focus on compliance, trust, and service.
Q: What are the most important differences attorneys should be aware of with the transition to 8am LawPay?
This work has been underway for some time, and we are now rolling out visual updates and clearer messaging across the 8am platform. For LawPay customers, the most important thing to know is that the core payment solution you rely on will remain the same—still built around compliance, trust, and ease of use—but with a refreshed product experience that better aligns with how legal professionals work.
Q: What is the goal of the rebrand?
The new brand helps connect what we’ve long delivered—legal-specific payment solutions—with where we’re going. We’ve brought multiple tools together under a single, integrated legal technology platform, and the new brand helps clarify that offering. It’s also about better aligning with the way law firms operate today and creating more room for future innovation that supports both firm growth and daily practice.
Q: How does this rebrand emphasize the previous goals of LawPay? How will it align with the work LawPay has done and continues to do?
We’re building directly into LawPay’s foundation: trust, compliance, and efficiency. Everything we’ve achieved—PCI compliance leadership, legal-specific trust accounting safeguards, and dedicated customer support—will remain central. It’s a continuation of the same goals, with more integrated ways to meet them.
Q: Will there be changes in programming, deals, or offers for American Bar Association (ABA) members that will come with the rebrand?
Our partnership with the ABA continues as it always has. ABA members can expect the same exclusive benefits they currently enjoy, with more opportunities on the horizon. While the new brand itself doesn’t change existing pricing or offers, it sets the stage for continued innovation and member-focused enhancements. Our partnership with the ABA remains a top priority, and members will continue to be among the first to benefit from new tools, integrations, and improvements.
Q: How will LawPay support legal professionals moving forward?
Our commitment to the legal community remains unchanged. You’ll see a new identity, but the same trusted team and the same dedication to supporting attorneys. The new brand brings visual consistency and a more connected experience, while reinforcing our focus on meeting the unique needs of legal professionals.
We think of this new brand as a moment to bring more focus and clarity to our purpose: helping professionals thrive. Legal work carries a lot of weight, and our job is to make the systems behind it simpler and more intuitive. We’re excited to continue supporting the ABA community with tools that are built to work the way law firms already do.
LawPay continues to evolve toward a more integrated, technology-driven future for the legal profession—without losing sight of the principles upon which it was built. For over 15 years, it has been the only payments solution recognized by all 50 state bars and the American Bar Association, a testament to its longstanding support for the legal community.
