2026 BOARD OF GOVERNORS ELECTION

At the 2026 midyear meeting, the Nominating Committee will announce nominations for district and at-large positions on the ABA Board of Governors for terms beginning at the conclusion of the 2026 annual meeting and ending at the conclusion of the 2029 annual meeting. Pursuant to Section 2.1 of the association’s constitution, the committee will nominate individuals from the following states to represent the noted districts: Maine (District 1), Massachusetts (District 2), District of Columbia (District 4), Maryland (District 6), Tennessee (District 12) and Iowa (District 19). The Nominating Committee will also nominate members from the Section of Litigation, the Law Practice Division and the Health Law Section to serve as section members-at-large. In addition, pursuant to Section 26.1(d) of the association’s constitution, two Goal III members-at-large (as defined in Section 7.3, amended in August) and one young lawyer member-at-large will be nominated for three-year terms each. 2026 STATE DELEGATE ELECTION NOTICE

Pursuant to Section 6.3(a) of the ABA Constitution, 19 states will elect state delegates for three-year terms beginning at the adjournment of the 2026 annual meeting. The deadline for receipt of nominating petitions is Dec. 4. Visit ambar.org/2026-statedel for a list of the states that will be conducting elections, as well as election rules and procedures.

DELEGATE-AT-LARGE ELECTION RESULTS

The 2025 delegate-at-large election was contested. At the 2025 annual meeting, Chair Jonathan Cole announced that the following members were elected for three-year terms (2025-2028) as delegates-at-large to the House of Delegates: Ellen F. Rosenblum of Oregon, Denise R. Avant of Illinois, Pamela C. Enslen of Michigan, José C. Feliciano Sr. of Ohio, Kim R. Jessum of Pennsylvania and Daniel A. Schwartz of Connecticut. STATE DELEGATE VACANCY ELECTION

Pursuant to Section 6.3(e) of the association’s constitution, the states of Alaska, Idaho and Oregon will hold vacancy elections to fill the unexpired terms for the state delegate positions. The deadline to submit a petition is Nov. 10. Visit ambar.org/stdelvacancy for more information about filing a petition.
