2025 BOARD OF GOVERNORS ELECTION NOTICE

At the 2025 ABA Midyear Meeting, the Nominating Committee will announce nominations for district and at-large positions on the ABA Board of Governors for terms beginning at the conclusion of the 2025 Annual Meeting and ending at the conclusion of the 2028 Annual Meeting. Pursuant to Section 2.1 of the association’s constitution, the committee will nominate individuals from the following states to represent the districts noted: Ohio (District 7); Texas (District 8); Wyoming (District 10); Arizona (District 11); Montana (District 13); and Washington (District 18). The Nominating Committee will also nominate one Goal III Member-at-Large who is a woman, one Goal III Member-at-Large who self-identifies as LGBTQ+, and nominate members from the sections of International Law; Real Property, Trust and Estate Law; and State and Local Government Law to serve as Section Members-at-Large. ABA MEDAL NOMINATIONS

The Profession, Public Service and Diversity Committee of the American Bar Association Board of Governors invites your nominations for the 2025 ABA Medal. Guidelines for awarding the medal and a list of past recipients can be found on the ABA Medal website at ambar.org/abamedal. Submit the nomination form, available at ambar.org/abamedalform2025, and materials, including biographical information about the nominee, to [email protected] by Friday, Jan. 3. Presentations will be made in person at the 2025 Midyear Meeting on Thursday, Jan. 30.

2025 MIDYEAR NOMINATING COMMITTEE BUSINESS SESSION, CANDIDATES FORUM AND VOTING SESSION

The Nominating Committee will meet in conjunction with the 2025 Midyear Meeting at 9 a.m. MT on Sunday, Feb. 2. The Candidates Forum will immediately follow the business session, and Association members are invited to hear from candidates for president-elect; chair of the House of Delegates; and secretary, who will be seeking nomination at the 2026 Midyear Meeting. After the Candidates Forum, the Nominating Committee will meet in executive session to nominate candidates for election by the House of Delegates.

GOAL III MEMBERS-AT-LARGE ON THE NOMINATING COMMITTEE FOR THE 2025-2028 TERM

The ABA president will appoint one Goal III Minority Member-at-Large and one Goal III Woman Member-at-Large to the Nominating Committee for the 2025-2028 term. These appointments will be made from broadly solicited nominations from the diversity commissions, sections, divisions and forums, state and local bar associations, and the membership at large. Members who are interested must submit a letter of interest and a resumé to [email protected]. The deadline for submission of credentials for consideration for these presidential appointments is Friday, May 16.
