ACTION OF THE NOMINATING COMMITTEE AT THE 2026 MIDYEAR MEETING
In accordance with Section 9 of the ABA Constitution, the House of Delegates Nominating Committee, at its meeting Sunday, Feb. 8, nominated Laura V. Farber of California for president-elect (2026-2027), Aurora A. Austriaco of Illinois for chair of the House of Delegates (2026-2028), Elizabeth K. Meyers of California for secretary (2026-2029), and members of the Board of Governors (2026-2029). For a list of all the nominees, go to ambar.org/NomCtteActions.
GOAL III MEMBERS-AT-LARGE ON THE NOMINATING COMMITTEE FOR THE 2026-2029 TERM
The ABA president will appoint three Goal III Members-at-Large to the Nominating Committee for the 2026-2029 term. These appointments will be made from broadly solicited nominations from ABA entities, state and local bar associations, and the membership at large. Submit a letter of interest and a resumé to [email protected] if you are interested in one of these seats. The deadline for submissions is Friday, May 15.
2026 DELEGATE-AT-LARGE ELECTION
Pursuant to Section 6.5 of the ABA Constitution, six Delegates-at-Large to the House of Delegates will be elected at the 2026 ABA Annual Conference for three-year terms beginning with the adjournment of that meeting and ending with the adjournment of the 2029 annual conference. Candidates for election as Delegate-at-Large are to be nominated by written petition. The deadline for filing nominating petitions is Thursday, May 14. NOTICE OF STATE DELEGATE VACANCY ELECTION
Pursuant to Section 6.3(e) of the ABA’s constitution, the states of Maine and South Carolina will hold an election to fill the state delegate positions that will become vacant at the conclusion of the 2026 annual conference. The Board of Elections will certify the results for each of the states. The term for the positions will commence at the end of the 2026 annual conference and will expire at the conclusion of the 2029 annual conference. Please email [email protected] to request a petition. The deadline to file is May 15.
