Letters: 'Really good issue'
‘Really good issue’
As a 50-year member of the ABA, I salute you for a really good issue, June-July 2025. There were many interesting articles even for a retired trial lawyer, especially the piece on Brian Steel! (“A Steely Defense,” page 26.)

Is it rare to care?’
The announcement of the new Harvard law dean had an interesting title: “Harvard Law School names new dean, a leader who ‘cares deeply about the legal profession.’” (ABAJournal.com, July 1.) Shouldn’t that be an implicit expectation—indeed, an axiomatic one—for any law school dean?

Hands-on learning
With regard to the article “Should law schools have more hands-on learning requirements?” (ABAJournal.com, May 12): I attended traditional law school as an older student. I envied my son, who attended Northeastern University School of Law in Boston, because of the mandatory opportunities for learning such as clinics, private practice, public defender office, federal prosecutors office—the list goes on and on. Hands-on learning was beneficial.
