A prosecutor in Central Oregon announced today that two top deputies have resigned, effective July 5, for undisclosed reasons.

Deschutes County District Attorney Patrick Flaherty praised the two in a press release, but offered no further comment about what prompted their departure from his office, according to Horizon Broadcasting Group and KTVZ.

Both Chief Deputy District Attorney Traci Anderson and Deputy District Attorney Pat Horton were hired by Flaherty shortly after he took office in January, the Bend Bulletin notes.

Flaherty was in the news last week, concerning an Oregon State Bar investigation of his use of a grand jury to pursue a dispute over release by the county of personnel records concerning his office:

Bend Bulletin: “Deschutes DA returns documents”
