First it was President Obama’s birth certificate. Now it’s his college transcripts.

Possible GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump raised the issue of Obama’s grades in an interview with the Associated Press. Obama graduated magna cum laude from Harvard Law School in 1991, but Trump suggested the president’s earlier grades weren’t as impressive.

“I heard he was a terrible student, terrible. How does a bad student go to Columbia and then to Harvard?” Trump said in the AP interview. “I’m thinking about it, I’m certainly looking into it. Let him show his records.”

Obama first attended Occidental College in California, then Columbia University and Harvard Law. Obama admitted in his memoir Dreams From My Father that his early grades weren’t good, but he never released his college transcripts.

Trump has also sided with birthers who want to see Obama’s birth certificate, despite Hawaii’s release of a certificate of live birth. In a new development in the controversy, Obama today posted a copy of his long-form birth certificate from the state of Hawaii, the New York Times reports on its Caucus blog. The certificate shows he was born in Honolulu and was signed by both his mother and father.
