A Miami security guard is going to get $150,000 for serving a three-day stint as a juror in a South Florida murder trial in April of 2007.

Agreeing with Jackalyn Strachan that her former employer fired her due to her jury service, another Miami-Dade Circuit Court jury awarded the 57-year-old woman $150,000 last week, reports the Miami Herald.

The jury also found that Hall Investigation Service violated a county law requiring employers to pay workers for three days of jury service.

Strachan got $30,000 for lost wages and emotional distress and $120,000 in punitive damages.

The article doesn’t include any comment from company owner and former police officer Arthur Hall, who is accused in Strachan’s suit of telling her he was going to report her to county prosecutors for attempting to get paid for the three days she was on the jury.

Strachan now works as a security guard at the county courthouse.
