Saying that a defense motion fell “very short” of establishing a need to subpoena the president of the United States to testify in the upcoming political corruption trial of former Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich, a federal judge in Chicago has nixed a defense motion to require Obama’s testimony.

Although the issue could be revisited later, U.S. District Judge James Zagel said that what Blagojevich believed is material to the case not Obama’s testimony, according to the Chicago Tribune.
