Anderson Kill Charges Lawyers to Wear Jeans, Donates Cash to Charity
The New York law firm Anderson Kill & Olick has raised more than $15,000 for charity by charging lawyers and staffers to wear jeans to work on Fridays.
Lawyers are charged $10 each time they wear jeans, while staffers have to pay $5 and interns $1, the National Law Journal reports in a story published by the New York Lawyer.
The law firm also raises money for charity through bake sales and raffles. The firm hopes to raise $5,000 for a different charity each quarter. So far the firm has donated to the American Cancer Society, National Parkinson Foundation and City Harvest, a New York food bank, according to the story.
About 40 percent to 50 percent of workers wear jeans on Fridays, human resources director Ronni Meltzer told the publication.
