A murder charge apparently hasn’t discouraged the founder of technology integration company SDI Networks from participating in the justice system.

John Ludwig Jr. of Greenville, S.C., was charged with murder in May after he crashed his Maserati into a home, killing a man inside who was watching television, according to FoxCarolina.com. Now Ludwig has filed a civil suit against his ex-wife and her divorce lawyer, even as he fights the murder charge, the Greenville News reports.

The $2.7 million suit claims Ludwig’s ex-wife, Donavan Ludwig, and her former attorney, Jimmy Brehm, offered to drop domestic-related burglary and harassment charges against him in exchange for a higher divorce settlement, according to the Greenville News account. The suit also claims Brehm defamed Ludwig in postings on a Facebook page supporting a criminal conviction in the crash case.

The suit alleges defamation and malicious prosecution.

Brehm told the Greenville News that the suit is baseless.
