A Milwaukee-based powerhouse has opened its fifth new office in the past three years, luring nine attorneys from a rival firm’s office to set up shop in Miami.

Foley & Larder has recruited Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney attorneys who specialize in litigation, employment, immigration and international tax, according to the South Florida Business Journal and a National Law Journal article reprinted by New York Lawyer (reg. req.). During the last three years, the firm has also opened new offices in Boston, New York, Los Angeles and Silicon Valley.

Foley, which says it has nearly 1,000 attorneys, already has four offices in other Florida cities. The Buchanan firm reportedly has about 550 lawyers.

William Davis, who headed Buchanan Ingersoll’s litigation practice in Miami and another office, will serve as managing partner of Foley’s new Miami office. The other Buchanan lawyers joining Foley are Guillermo Fernandez-Quincoces, Leslie Smith, Roy Barquet, Mark Neuberger, Darin Zenov, Alan Seagrave, Laura Ganoza and Christopher Furlan.
