Saul Ewing has snagged seven lawyers from the Wilmington, Del., office of Buchanan Ingersoll.

The lateral acquisition gives Saul Ewing a total of 19 lawyers in Wilmington and leaves Buchanan Ingersoll with only four lawyers there, the Pittsburgh Business Times reports.

The lateral group includes three partners: office head William Manning, Delaware bankruptcy chief Teresa Currier and real estate lawyer Richard Forsten.

Manning, the former chief of staff to former Delaware Gov. Pete DuPont, is outside general counsel to the University of Delaware and also represents Verizon Corp., the story says.

Last year, Buchanan Ingersoll saw a loss of 35 lawyers and lobbyists, according to a Legal Times story published last August. Former partners told the publication that the firm had not shown an adequate commitment to its satellite offices, while a recruiter cited jealousy and rivalry between the firm’s Pittsburgh and branch offices.
