Snell & Wilmer lays off about 40 staffers
A well-known Western regional law firm with more than 400 attorneys on its roster has laid off about 40 staff members.
Snell & Wilmer notified them this week of the reduction in force, said chairman John Bouma in a written statement provided to Above the Law.
“This decision was made to achieve better alignment and recognize increased efficiencies,” Bouma’s statement explains. “Affected staff members will receive severance packages based on their tenure at the firm.
“These decisions are never easy, particularly when they involve good people who have served our firm and our clients well over the years,” the statement continues. “Snell & Wilmer remains debt-free, financially strong, and focused on continuing to efficiently provide outstanding legal services to our clients.”
The firm has offices in Arizona, California, Colorado, Nevada, Utah and Mexico.
