In a staggered series of moves that began in early November, in order to ease the transfer of clients, a team of four lawyers and two patent agents have departed Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman for Womble Carlyle Sandridge & Rice.

Headed by Thomas Cawley Jr., who joins Womble Carlyle as a partner, the team was attracted by client-friendly rates and his new firm’s East Coast practice, he tells the Blog of Legal Times. “It’s a lot easier to work with people who are in the same time zone.”
