In an address at the ABA Annual Meeting in Toronto, ABA President Bill Bay said the association will “never surrender in the fight for the rule of law and due process.”
In the face of relentless attacks on American principles, the judicial system and diversity, Bay said, the association is standing up for what is right, because “the rule of law does not defend itself. Lawyers do.”
Bay delivered the remarks to the ABA’s policymaking body at the conclusion of his yearlong term as part of the 2025 Annual Meeting in Toronto.
