In Spirit of Season, Law Firm Offers Gift Certificates for Divorce Advice
Looking for the perfect gift for squabbling neighbors or friends who are on a bumpy stretch of road in their marriage? A London law firm has a suggestion that is both practical and affordable.
In honor of the holiday season, when spouses tend to be especially stressed, Lloyd Platt & Company is offering vouchers for discounted matrimonial advice. Good for half an hour of discussion about a potential divorce, they are being sold for about $200. Ordinarily, the firm ordinarily charges around $530 per hour, reports Reuters.
Already, since the program was launched a little over a week ago, Lloyd Platt has sold more than 60. Vanessa Lloyd Platt, who founded the law firm, says she was stunned by the response.
“They seem to appeal to an enormously widespread spectrum of people looking for that ‘must have’ gift for Christmas,” she tells the news agency.
