Calif. Judge Accused of Treating Court Call as Audition for Job as TV Jurist Agrees to Resign
Accused of handling her call one day last year in a way that was intended to maximize its appeal to the producers of a potential Judge Judy-like reality television show as they filmed the proceedings, a California judge has now agreed to accept a public censure and resign.
San Diego Superior Court Judge DeAnn Salcido has also agreed never to seek a job as a judge again under a settlement with the Commission on Judicial Performance that was announced today, the San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
The article doesn’t indicate that the pact would prohibit Salcido from pursuing a position as a television-show jurist, however.
