A South Florida attorney who said he was a friend of conservative political activist Charlie Kirk will be his widow’s victim representative in the Utah prosecution of her husband’s accused killer.

Jeff A. Neiman of Fort Lauderdale, Florida’s Neiman Mays Floch & Almeida was granted a motion to practice pro hac vice as Erika Kirk’s victim representative, according to the Daily Business Review.

Kirk, the founder of Turning Point USA, a conservative nonprofit, was assassinated while speaking at the Utah Valley University in September. Prosecutors have charged 23-year-old Tyler Robinson with the shooting. Robinson has pleaded not guilty. No trial date has been set.

According to the Daily Business Review, Neiman has a history of representing celebrities in crisis, including Shark Tank star Kevin O’Leary, influencer Logan Paul and R&B singer Trey Songz.

The lawyer told the Daily Business Review on Friday that Kirk was more than just a client.

“Charlie Kirk was my client and my friend. When Erika called, there was no question I would be there,” Neiman said in an emailed statement to the Daily Business Review. “My only focus now is making sure her voice is heard and her rights are protected through every step of this process.”
