A Wisconsin district attorney was surprised when deputies showed up last November to investigate accusations that he was viewing porn on a computer in a hotel business center.

Wood County District Attorney John Henkelmann wasn’t charged in the incident, the Associated Press reports. He told AP he had been drinking, he didn’t do anything illegal, and he was “shaken” when deputies arrived.

Henkelmann was alone in the room, but a front-desk clerk at the Osthoff Resort in Elkhart Lake was able to observe him on a surveillance camera. She called police at 1:30 a.m. Henkelmann told the deputies he was unaware of the camera. According to the police report, deputies told the prosecutor to “discontinue activity and return to his room.”

Henkelmann was at the hotel for a training conference hosted by the Wisconsin Department of Justice. AP learned of the incident through an open-records request.
