A judge on Delaware’s chancery court is joining Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison.

Stephen Lamb ended his 12-year term on Tuesday; Paul Weiss announced that Lamb will join its corporate and litigation departments “at the stroke of midnight,” according to the Am Law Litigation Daily.

Lamb told the Wall Street Journal (sub. req.) that he will start a Delaware office in Wilmington for the law firm. He will also work in the firm’s New York office, according to a press release.

Lamb was one of five judges on the chancery court, which hears mostly corporate and commercial law cases.

Tulane corporate law professor Elizabeth Nowicki praised Lamb in an interview with the Wall Street Journal. “He’s conservative, yes,” Nowicki said. “But I’m pro-investor and I’ve always been impressed with how careful he is to independently approach each case without being attached to a certain dogma.”
