A former California attorney was recently convicted of sexually abusing three minor girls over several years and possessing sexually explicit images of two of his victims.
Former Walnut Creek, California, real estate attorney Jonathan Dean Bishop, 51, was found guilty March 2 of 24 felony counts for performing lewd acts on girls younger than age 14, identified in court documents as “Jane Doe #1,” “Jane Doe #2” and “Jane Doe #3.”
According to a March 3 press release from the Contra Costa district attorney’s office in California, Bishop was also found guilty of possessing over 600 images of child sexual abuse material pertaining to two of his victims. He faces “multiple life sentences,” according to the press release.
Investigators seized the images from Bishop’s computer hard drive, and he was arrested Dec. 13, 2023, at the Oakland International Airport in Florida, where he resided.
“We are grateful for the outstanding work of law enforcement and the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, whose forensic and investigative efforts were critical to this case,” Contra Costa District Attorney Diana Becton said in the press release.
