A lawyer known for his stint at the helm of a high-flying San Francisco law firm that subsequently went bankrupt and his leadership role in an unsuccessful effort to establish a West Coast presence for London-based Clifford Chance is now joining Cooley as a partner.

Once the chairman of Brobeck Phleger & Harrison, Tower C. Snow Jr. took a hiatus from practice for more than three years after his stint at Clifford Chance, then joined Howard Rice Nemerovski Canady Falk & Rabkin, where he served as a litigation director.

Now he will be a securities litigation partner at Cooley, the Silicon Valley-based firm announced in a press release today.

“Tower is one of the most accomplished securities litigators in the country and we are delighted to welcome him to the firm and to our litigation department,” said the firm’s chairman, Stephen Neal, in the release. “His track record of success representing major corporations in their most complex securities matters is remarkable, and his experience, knowledge and insight will further reinforce Cooley’s position as a clear leader in securities litigation and one of the best litigation firms in the country.”
