A family lawyer who worked in Athens, Ga., is among three members of a theater group who were killed at a picnic on Saturday. Police are hunting for the suspect, a University of Georgia marketing professor who is the lawyer’s ex-husband.

Forty-seven-year-old Marie Bruce was a lawyer in the law office of attorney J. Hue Henry, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports. She was killed along with Tom Tanner, 40, and Ben Teague, 63, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports in a separate story. All were involved with the Town & Gown Players Inc.

The suspect is Bruce’s ex-husband, George Zinkhan. Police say he stepped out of his Jeep and fired the shots while his children, 8 and 10, remained inside the vehicle. He later dropped them off at a next-door neighbor’s home, citing an emergency.

The neighbor, Robert Covington, told the Associated Press he asked the 10-year-old about the emergency, and “all she would relate to me was there was something about a firecracker.” He said Bruce and Zinkhan still lived together.
