The lawyer for the now infamous founder of the “Girls Gone Wild” video series has filed a prosecutorial misconduct motion against the Florida state attorney who pursued charges against his client.

Miami attorney Roy Black claims State Attorney Steve Meadows exhibited a “pattern of blatant abuse” in dealing with Joe Francis, according to several news reports and Yahoo! TV.

Black took special exception to Meadows’ participation in a VH1 documentary, The Rise and Fall of Joe Francis. Meadows reportedly expresses opinions that Francis was guilty of conspiring to use minors in a sexual performance. Black wants the charges dropped because of the prosecutor’s conduct.

Regardless of the motion’s outcome, Francis, currently being held in Washoe County Jail in Reno, Nev., where he faces trial on federal tax-evasion charges.

Francis has vowed to fight back against “baseless allegations” and has launched an Internet ad campaign highlighting his legal woes, reports the Associated Press.
