Molly McDonough

Molly McDonough was editor and publisher of the ABA Journal from October 2016 to October 2019. She joined the Journal staff in 2001 as a legal affairs writer. She was previously the managing editor, deputy managing editor and an assistant managing editor for the web. She is an award-winning journalist and proven project manager. Before joining the Journal, she worked in print and online media for American Lawyer Media and covering legal affairs for the Chicago Daily Law Bulletin, Gary Post-Tribune, Spartanburg Herald-Journal and Florence Morning News. In 2014, she was awarded and named to Folio’s Top Women in Media list as a woman who innovates and guides her business into new markets. Her work building ABAJournal.com was recognized in 2008 with a prestigious Webby People’s Voice Award. She is active in the Society of Professional Journalists, where she was on the national board and president of its largest chapter. She also is a Girl Scout leader and is active in her community. McDonough has a B.S. in psychology with a second major in communications from Valparaiso University.
