Which BigLaw lawyers did most pro bono in 2025?

Patterson Belknap Webb & Tyler topped the American Lawyer’s latest Pro Bono Scorecard, which ranks Am Law 200 law firms by the pro bono work handled by their lawyers in the United States.
Firms’ scores were based on the average number of pro bono hours performed by each of their lawyers in 2025 and the percentage of their lawyers who did more than 20 hours of pro bono, according to Law.com. The American Lawyer defines pro bono work strictly as legal services donated by lawyers to people or organizations.
These firms round out the top 10 in the Pro Bono Scorecard:

- Covington & Burling
- Jenner & Block
- Munger, Tolles & Olson
- Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr
- Arnold & Porter Kaye Scholer
- Dechert
- Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher
- Winston & Strawn
- Hogan Lovells
According to Above the Law, for nearly all the firms in the scorecard, the average attorney handled more than 100 hours of pro bono work in 2025.
Above the Law also reports that Am Law 200 firms as a whole contributed a total of 5.01 million hours of pro bono last year.
