Donald Trump’s election victory has observers considering which person will be chosen as attorney general in his administration.

Anonymous sources close to Trump or his campaign tell NBC News and Politico that former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani is being considered for attorney general. His name appears in several other news stories considering possible choices, including stories by ABC News, USA Today, the Wall Street Journal (sub. req.) and the New York Times DealBook blog.

But Giuliani told the Wall Street Journal that he isn’t that interested in a government post. “You never say no,” Giuliani said, “but I’d rather help him find someone else who can do it. I’m very happy not being in the government.” Giuliani took a leave of absence from Greenberg Traurig to work on the Trump campaign.

Sources told Politico that other possibilities are New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi. Christie’s chances could be hurt by allegations that he was told about a scheme to shut down lanes on the George Washington Bridge as it was unfolding. Bondi’s chances could also be harmed because Trump’s charitable foundation gave $25,000 to a political group with ties to Bondi as she was considering whether to join New York’s investigation of Trump University.

The Boston Herald thought U.S. Rep. Trey Gowdy could be an attorney general pick because of his congressional Benghazi probe. He also has said he disagreed with FBI director James Comey’s conclusion that Hillary Clinton should not be prosecuted for her use of a private server as secretary of state, Western Journalism reports.

The Wall Street Journal suggested that Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson was a possibility. Hutchinson was asked about his interest at a news conference on Wednesday, the Northwest Arkansas Democrat Gazette reports. Hutchinson responded this way: “No … how’s that for clarity?”
