U.S. lawyers at Weil, Gotshal & Manges will generally be expected to be in the office Monday through Thursday beginning after Labor Day.

Law.com broke the news after obtaining a firmwide email making the announcement on Tuesday. Above the Law, Reuters and Law360 also have stories.

There are some exceptions to the policy. Associates and counsel will get 12 “flexible remote days” when they can work from home. After Labor Day, lawyers and administrative staff will also have the option of working from home the week of Thanksgiving, the week between Christmas and New Year’s Day, and the last two weeks of August.

“Over the past year, we have all seen the many benefits that come with people working regularly in-person—especially with the predictability of knowing people will be in consistently on the same days,” Weil Gotshal said in its memo.

Weil Gotshal is following in the footsteps of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom and Davis Polk & Wardwell. They also require four days of work in the office each week.
