A New Jersey appeals court has refused to toss a lawsuit claiming Duane Morris failed to explain the full economic ramifications of a case settlement to a client.

Ex-client Joseph Guido claims he was stripped of his power as a majority shareholder in a shipping company in a settlement that increased the number of corporate board members and required their unanimous approval for the sale or transfer of capital stock, the New Jersey Law Journal reports.

The appeals court ruled in Guido v. Duane Morris that Guido’s allegations were sufficient to permit the suit to go forward, the story says.
